The Importance of Giving

\\"The Importance of Giving" By  Madeline Frank One of my most cherished books is Einstein's Theory of Relativity. Einstein had a different learning style and never really blossomed academically until he picked up a violin and began playing as a little boy. He often attributed his clarity of thought and creativity to the practice of playing music (by engaging both hemispheres of the brain). I also had a different learning style than most. As a little girl, I struggled in the classroom. When I picked up the violin, it was as if the shackles that had been holding my mind's potential hostage started to release. The book was a great reminder of two things: 1. I am not alone. Other people have struggled with the same issues I face and gone on to do great things. 2. Sometimes the keys to your success aren't always obvious. While we were cleaning out our home this spring, I decided to give this book to a deserving young girl or boy with the hope that it may encourage the

Give No Advice

Give No Advice By  Tony A Grayson As you begin to read this article, appreciate the contradiction. How can I write an article titled, "Give No Advice," without appearing to give advice about that subject? I can't. Wow, this was the shortest article that I have written. How about a proposition, an assertion of my opinion, with a couple of examples to supoport that opinion? So, unless you are an expert in a particular subject, trained, in possession of degrees or certificates that attest to that training, and you have practical experience, I suggest that, "You should give no advice outside of that subject area." This is legal low risk guidance. But, you might have legitimately useful advice for others even though you don't have any fancy training and certificates. Writing about this subject is therapy for me. I struggle with the idea of  not  advising grown members of my family, my friends, and (everyone else, like readers of my articles). I want all of you

Hey, This Is My Story

Hey, This Is My Story! By  James Snyder I am just now concluding that narcissism is a virus that has infected everybody in the world that is breathing air. I even apply this to my own life with a great deal of regret. Nobody wants to admit they have narcissistic leanings in their life. And yet, if you listen to them, and even listen to yourself, you will see it. I did not know how aggravating it was, but I was to learn pretty soon. Recently I had a heart attack and had a stent put in one of my arteries, the widow make her. It was this experience that showed me the level of narcissism in my own life. When anybody would call me and ask how I was, I would mention that I recently had a heart attack and had a stent inserted in one of my arteries. Before I can even get to the end of that sentence, the person on the other end of the line will say, "Oh, a couple of years ago, I had a heart attack and had two stents put in." And then they would go on and on and on about their conditio

I Love My Imperfections

I know most people like to focus on their perfections so that they can impress other people. But what about people like me who have no perfections to boast about? If I had one perfection, I would spend all my time talking about that. And, that would become rather boring in no time. Some people are ashamed of their imperfections and try to hide them. They think for some reason their imperfections bring them down. Therefore, they do all they can to hide their imperfections from everybody, thinking that nobody will know anything about them. For the longest time, I tried to do that myself. Then there came the day when I realized that most people could see past my façade and see my imperfections. For every perfection somebody has, there are probably do
